Mary Kocsis has substantial experience in all areas of employment law and all aspects of litigation, including several jury trials to verdict and arbitrations. She has represented clients before federal and state courts and administrative agencies in cases of wrongful termination; sexual harassment; age, race, disability, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, and national origin discrimination; retaliation; Labor Code violations; breach of contract; common law torts, including defamation and fraud; and wage and hour class allegations.
Ms. Kocsis regularly provides advice on a wide variety of labor and employment issues, including those related to the interpretation of policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements; application of federal and state leave laws; privacy rights; separation of employment; arbitration; and discipline. Ms. Kocsis has conducted workplace investigations regarding allegations of discrimination and retaliation, and has represented clients in connection with restraining orders to prevent workplace violence.
Ms. Kocsis earned her B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Illinois and her J.D., with Honors, from Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout her career, Ms. Kocsis has gained extensive experience representing public and private sector clients in employment, professional and product liability, business, and real estate litigation matters.
