The Oxnard Peace Officers’ Association recently concluded exhaustive negotiations with the City of Oxnard by entering into a 1 year Memorandum of Understanding that resulted in an increase in the total compensation of the represented employees of slightly more than 9%. This increase represents a significant step in restoring the represented employees to the status they had occupied for many years of being the highest paid law enforcement officers in Ventura County. The Association representatives are anticipating a like increase to be awarded for the ensuing contract year considering the City’s commitment to ensure that their law enforcement officers’ compensation is extremely competitive with neighboring agencies and recognizes the complexities and dangers attendant to law enforcement to the citizens of Oxnard. Throughout the negotiations process, the Association was represented by its President, Jim Seitz, Greg Hebert, Mike Young, Eduardo Miranda, Gaye Lynn Ward and the attorney who has represented the Association for the past 30 years, Steve Silver.
