Robert Wexler joined the law firm that is now Silver Hadden Silver Wexler + Levine as an associate attorney in 1994 and became a partner in 1999. He practices all aspects of labor and employment law, with a special emphasis on the unique issues affecting public safety employment relations.
Widely regarded as a creative and successful negotiator who has bargained a myriad of innovative agreements on behalf of his clients, Robert also represents employees and labor unions in prosecuting grievances of unfair labor practices, litigating employment disputes, defending individuals during disciplinary investigations and prosecuting and defending writs and appeals. His clients include some of the largest municipal police and firefighters associations in California.
Mr. Wexler is frequently invited to speak to both labor and management about collective bargaining, the protections afforded safety employees under the Public Safety Officers’ Procedural Bill of Rights Act and the Firefighters’ Procedural Bill of Rights Act, Drug Testing, Free Speech and Privacy Rights. He has been a featured presenter for organizations, including: the Police Officers’ Research Association of California (PORAC), Labor Relations Information System (LRIS), the Southern California Internal Affairs Investigators’ Association, the California Public Employment Labor Relations Association (CALPELRA), the National Public Employment Labor Relations Association (NPELRA), the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) and the California Professional Firefighters (CPF). Mr. Wexler has also authored numerous articles that have appeared in various publications including PORAC News, In Pursuit Of, The Rap Sheet and the Hot Sheet and has appeared on KCAL, KTLA, FOX, and KNX and KFI news radio.
Robert graduated from the prestigious SCALE program at Southwestern University School of Law, where he received the Wildeman Scholarship for Academic Excellence and was a member of Phi Delta Phi International Honors Society. When not negotiating on behalf of clients, Robert, along with his wife, Jennifer, are forever negotiating bed times with their two wonderful daughters.
